Unable to afford daycare, Adam cannot work and is struggling to feed her children.
During Adam’s childhood in the countryside, after her father passed away, she helped her family by serving as a shepherd . Her grandmother valued education and eventually convinced Adam to move to Addis Ababa to have the chance to attend school. Here Adam went to evening classes and worked as a maid during the daytime. However, the man of the household was unkind to her which made this situation very difficult. Many years later, the person whom her family originally had arranged for her to marry, contacted her and they decided to start a new life together. Her husband has always been supportive of Adam, helping her to graduate high school and taking responsibility for his family.
Adam and her husband have two young children and live in a small wood and mud house in Korah. Although Adam completed Grade 12, she did not continue her schooling as they could not afford it. Now she stays at home to care for her toddler, while her husband works hard to provide as best he can. Yet, it is hard to keep the family fed and they often go hungry.
Monthly sponsorship will provide Adam’s family with holistic support such as food, housing, medical care, spiritual care, counselling, education, health and life skills training, income generation and business development opportunities.
