The Israel Sisters

Abigael, Eldana, and Elhim dream of a future filled with hope, peace, and opportunity.

These three sisters have known hardship and responsibility from a young age. Growing up in Korah, their parents work tirelessly to make ends meet, yet the weight of daily life remains heavy. Their mother, a strong spiritual leader within the community, has played a significant role in guiding, teaching, and encouraging many Hope for Korah women in their faith. Alongside her, the girls dutifully carry household responsibilities while pursuing their academic goals.

Abigael, the eldest at 15 years old, is in Grade 8. Calm and thoughtful, she enjoys finding a quiet place to immerse herself in a novel or focus on her studies. Intelligent and motivated, she loves to learn. At home, she plays an important role in supporting her mother, regularly helping with cleaning and washing clothes.

Eldana, 13 years old and in Grade 7, is deeply compassionate and hopeful. She dreams of becoming a doctor and carries a vision that stretches far beyond her current circumstances. Inspired by her mother’s example, Eldana hopes to one day volunteer with organizations that support and empower women.

The youngest sister, Elhim, is 9 years old and in Grade 4. Soft-spoken and responsible, she demonstrates remarkable kindness and a sensitivity beyond her years. She is a gentle soul with great potential to flourish academically and emotionally with the right support.

In previous years, the girls were able to attend a private school through the support of a relative. However, this past year they have been enrolled in government school, where overcrowded classrooms and limited individual attention have negatively impacted their learning.

This coming fall, we plan to re-enroll the Israel sisters in private school, providing them with smaller class sizes, quality instruction, and stronger academic support. An Educational Sponsorship will cover tuition, uniforms, textbooks, school supplies, after-school tutoring, youth activities, and a nutritious Berta Breakfast each morning before school. Your support will help Abigael, Eldana, and Elhim break the cycle of poverty by strengthening their education, empowering their minds, and offering hope for a brighter future.
