Yabsera's Education

Yabsera is a friendly and responsible 13-year-old who hopes of becoming an accountant one day.

Living with his mother and two younger brothers in a very small home near the city garbage dump, Yabsera’s family has faced many challenges. His mother was forced to stop working after his youngest brother, who has a disability, became seriously ill. This created significant challenges for the family and made it difficult for his mother to provide for their daily needs.

Yabsera enjoys playing soccer, exercising, attending church, and taking part in creative activities. His favourite subjects are English and Mathematics, and he is motivated to work hard toward his goals. At home, he helps by fetching water, washing dishes, caring for his younger brothers, and helping keep the house clean. He takes his responsibilities seriously and is always willing to support his family.

This fall, Yabsera will be starting Grade 7 at a private school that offers a higher standard of education through smaller class sizes, quality teaching, and greater individual support. An Educational Sponsorship will cover his tuition, school uniform, textbooks, school supplies, after-school tutoring, participation in Hope for Korah youth programs, and a nutritious Berta Breakfast each morning before school. Your sponsorship will help provide Yabsera with the education, encouragement, and opportunities he needs to work toward his dreams.

Current Need per Month $100:  Sponsor $100 per mo. | $50 per mo.
