Merima is a dedicated 14-year-old student who dreams of one day becoming a pediatrician.
She loves spending time with children and is motivated to work hard toward her goal of caring for others.
Living with her parents and three younger siblings, Merima’s family has faced many challenges. Her mother is learning to weave baskets and has started earning an income, providing the family with greater hope for a more stable future. Until recently, they lived near the city garbage dump before being forced to relocate when homes along the edge of the dump were demolished. The family is now adjusting to a new environment while facing the challenges that come with this transition.
Through school and Hope for Korah programs, Merima continues to grow and develop her abilities. She is actively involved in HFK’s tutoring program, computer classes, and the Girls Team. At home, she helps her mother with household responsibilities and supports her younger siblings with their homework. Her kindness, responsibility, and commitment to her family demonstrate the caring person she is.
Merima will be starting Grade 9 this fall at a private school that offers a higher standard of education through smaller class sizes, quality teaching, and greater support from teachers. An Educational Sponsorship will cover her tuition, uniform, textbooks, school supplies, after-school tutoring, youth activities, counselling, and a nutritious Berta Breakfast every morning before school. Your sponsorship will help Merima continue her education, develop her abilities, and work toward a brighter future.
