Employment Skills & Business Development Training

HFK Economic Empowerment Program

Employment Skills and Business Development Training are essential components of our programming.

During the later phases of sponsorship, families are organized into either the business or the employment track. In their respective groups, participants attend either business trainings or employment readiness trainings provided by local organizations as well as our own economic empowerment staff. Refresher trainings are also given to further solidify interviewing, communication, problem-solving, leadership and other relevant skills for the work place.

After completing trainings, our participants receive individualized consultations with our economic empowerment team to help develop a plan of action for generating income. This collaborative process further empowers adults and also helps them identify if they need more support, specialized training, or partnerships within the community to achieve their employment or business goals.
