Kidus' Education

Growing up with his parents and younger sister, Kidus is part of a family working toward a more stable future. His mother is nearing completion of the Hope for Korah Family Empowerment Program and has recently started her own roadside coffee business. His father works at a shoe factory.

Kidus enjoys school and is doing well in his studies. His favourite subjects are Math and English, and he especially loves playing soccer and spending time with his friends. He attends the HFK after-school tutoring program whenever possible, where he receives additional support and encouragement in his education. Although he is naturally quiet, he has developed positive friendships and enjoys connecting with other children.

This fall, Kidus will be starting Grade 3 at a private school that offers a higher standard of education through smaller class sizes, quality teaching, and greater support from teachers. An Educational Sponsorship will cover his tuition, uniform, textbooks, school supplies, after-school tutoring, youth activities, counselling, and a nutritious Berta Breakfast every morning before school.
