Big dreams are coming true! After years of praying and hoping for a music program for our kids, we’re beyond grateful to Abbotsford Christian School for helping make it happen!
For the past 2 years, Grace Lee has been an incredible volunteer with HFK through the Junior Residency Program at Abbotsford Christian School. This January, her hard work and dedication took her to Ethiopia, where she helped launch a brand new music program in Korah!
With a bag full of recorders in hand, Grace started teaching basic music lessons, including note recognition and beginner recorder skills. The kids were absolutely thrilled and loved every moment!
As Grace’s time in Korah came to a close, the program culminated in a beautiful recital that left everyone involved with full hearts. The children played their new recorders with pride, showing off the skills they had worked so hard to develop, while Grace shared her musical gifts by playing her violin. The children were mesmerized by the sound of Grace’s violin, watching in awe as the melodies filled the open air. It truly felt like a glimpse of something much greater – a reminder that even in the midst of ashes, beauty can still rise. (Isaiah 61;3-4)
A huge Thank you to Grace and Abbotsford Christian School for partnering with HFK to create this amazing new music program!
