Besufekad's Education

Besufekad is a lively and energetic 9-year-old with a curious mind and joyful personality.

He enjoys participating in Hope for Korah’s youth activities and spending time with his friends. His favourite subjects are English and Math, and he regularly participates in the tutoring program, soccer, computer and art classes, and the Kids Small Group. He is a friendly and creative child who enjoys playing soccer, watching cartoons, and taking part in creative activities.

Besufekad has two older siblings and is being raised by his single mother. Until recently, the family lived in a small rented home near the city garbage dump. Their home was among those demolished when houses along the edge of the dump were removed, forcing the family to relocate away from their community. Their new neighbourhood has very limited access to water and electricity, creating additional challenges for the family.

At home, Besufekad helps his family by running errands, helping make coffee with his sister, and caring for their home. He continues to grow with the encouragement of his family, teachers, and Hope for Korah staff.

This fall, Besufekad will be starting Grade 4 at Liza private school that offers a higher standard of education through smaller class sizes, quality teaching, and greater support from teachers. An Educational Sponsorship will provide his tuition, school uniform, textbooks, school supplies, after-school tutoring, youth activities, counselling, and a nutritious Berta Breakfast every morning before school. Your sponsorship will help Besufekad continue learning, develop his abilities, and work toward a brighter future.
