Ewawe's Family

Ewawe lives with her two daughters in a small shelter made of tin sheets in Korah.

After separating from her husband, Ewawe returned to Addis Ababa and faced the challenge of raising her daughters with very limited support. She worked as a domestic worker, washed clothes for others, and collected recyclable materials from the trash dump to provide for her family. Today, she sells coffee from a small space near her home as she works hard to create a better future for her children.

Despite her determination and hard work, Ewawe’s income is not enough to cover her family’s basic needs. Providing enough food remains a daily challenge, and the family often relies on simple meals. She is grateful that her older daughter receives a meal each day at school, helping ease some of the burden as she works to care for her children.

Monthly sponsorship will provide Ewawe’s family with holistic support such as food, housing, medical care, spiritual care, counselling, education, health and life skills training, income generation and business development opportunities. Being part of HFK’s Family Empowerment Program will also give this family an opportunity to participate in many of our youth, daycare, education, and community programs.

Current Need per Month $300:  Sponsor $300 per mo. | $150 per mo. | $75 per mo.
