Elias' Education

Humble, kind, and friendly, Elias is a 16-year-old who loves learning and is committed to his education.

Elias enjoys school, with Social Studies and Mathematics being his favourite subjects, and he works hard to continue growing academically. He has two siblings and is being raised by his single mother. The family previously lived near the city garbage dump until their home was demolished during the removal of houses along the edge of the dump. They were forced to relocate away from their community, where access to water and electricity remains very limited.

Active in several Hope for Korah youth programs, Elias participates in soccer, music, computers, Bright Teens, Book Review Club, and the Berta Breakfast Program. He has a growing interest in coding and enjoys spending time in the HFK computer lab. Quiet and respectful, he is a positive role model who helps his family by completing chores, fetching water, and supporting his younger siblings.

Elias is attending Grade 9 at Liza Private School, where he benefits from smaller class sizes, quality instruction, and greater academic support from teachers. An Educational Sponsorship will provide his tuition, school uniform, textbooks, school supplies, after-school tutoring, youth activities, and a nutritious Berta Breakfast each school day. This support will help Elias break the cycle of poverty by empowering his mind and offering hope for a brighter future.
