Zeyineba's Family

When Zeyineba cannot afford to feed her five children, she sometimes has no choice but to beg on the streets.

Growing up in extreme poverty, Zeyineba never had the opportunity to attend school. After years of hardship in her marriage, she is now raising her five children on her own. The family lives in a small mud house in Korah without access to running water. Each day, Zeyineba must carry water from a nearby community to meet her family’s basic needs.

Zeyineba takes on whatever work she can find to earn money for food and rent. She previously ran a small vegetable business, but after becoming solely responsible for her children, she was unable to continue because of the demands of caring for her youngest child. Today, finding regular employment remains a constant challenge.

Monthly sponsorship will provide Zeyineba’s family with holistic support such as food, housing, medical care, spiritual care, counselling, education, health and life skills training, income generation and business development opportunities. Being part of HFK’s Family Empowerment Program will also give this family an opportunity to participate in many of our youth, daycare, education, and community programs.

Current Need per Month $300:  Sponsor $300 per mo. | $150 per mo. | $75 per mo.
