Lidia's Family

Lidia works hard to provide for her children, taking on whatever work she can find to support her family.

Lidia is raising her three children on her own after making the difficult decision to leave a relationship she believed was no longer healthy for her family. To earn an income, she washes clothes for other families and borrows a deep fryer to sell French fries on the street whenever she can. Despite her determination and resourcefulness, these small jobs do not provide enough to consistently cover food and her family's basic needs.

Monthly sponsorship will provide Lidia’s family with holistic support such as food, housing, medical care, spiritual care, counselling, education, health and life skills training, income generation and business development opportunities. Being part of HFK’s Family Empowerment Program will also give this family an opportunity to participate in many of our youth, daycare, education, and community programs.
