Hope has Arrived - Our New Van is Here!

A Van, a Dream, and God's Perfect Timing

Many of you remember our big 2025 campaign - Hope on the Move.

It was an exciting season for us as we watched God work through the generosity of supporters like you. The goal was to raise enough funds to purchase a used van for the people and work in Korah, and thanks to your incredible support, we reached that goal! After years of hoping and waiting, the dream finally seemed within our grasp.

But then… disappointment. As Ethiopia accelerates its transition to electric vehicles, new government regulations, including restricting the import of gas-powered vehicles, make it nearly impossible for a charity to purchase a gasoline van, and even harder to buy a used one. Even the largest Toyota dealership in Addis had no gas-powered vans. They searched the entire country on our behalf and found nothing.

Just when we thought we were celebrating, it felt as though the doors were closing. How could we ever get a van now? Still, we held onto faith, trusting that God had provided the funds, and therefore believing a used vehicle must be waiting for us, even if we didn’t yet know from where or how.

But God had a plan. After months of closed doors, discouragement, prayer, and searching, He turned the impossible into the possible. Just as we were exploring every option, the Toyota dealership reached out to us with incredible news: a brand-new 2023 Toyota 12-passenger van had just been released into the country. It had been sitting at the port of entry for two years, waiting while permits and red tape dragged on, a process that had begun before the import ban, which caused the long wait. It felt as though God had been holding this van just for us, saving it and waiting for His perfect timing. 

This week, all the details were finalized, and the van finally arrived home to a big celebration of singing and clapping! Watch video below. We can hardly believe it. God’s faithfulness, patience, and provision have been so evident throughout this journey. 

We want to thank every single person who prayed for this dream, supported the project, and waited alongside us to see God’s promise come to life. Your prayers and generosity have made a difference, and now we are excited to see how God will use this van to bless the people of Korah.

Truly, He is so faithful, and His timing is always perfect.
