In Loving Memory of Aleyu

By: Claire RozekPosted On: January 8th, 2026

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of our beloved Aleyu, a cherished elder whose gentle spirit touched all who knew him.

Aleyu was 78 years old and passed away on January 5, 2026. He was a man of remarkable humility and kindness. Aleyu’s quiet presence and radiant, warm smile were a source of quiet joy to everyone fortunate enough to meet him.

After enduring significant hardship and illness throughout much of his life, Aleyu found a haven—and a new family—at the Hope for Korah Elders Home in his later years. He quickly became an integral and deeply loved member of our community, admired by countless visitors, and especially cherished, by his Hope for Korah family.

Many will fondly remember seeing Aleyu contentedly seated in his favorite chair on the Elders Home front porch. He would often gaze out over the garden area, soaking in the warmth of the early morning sun. Despite ongoing health challenges, Aleyu carried an extraordinary spirit and sense of humour, that we all enjoyed. He rarely complained, choosing instead joy, gratitude, and a deep appreciation for life.

Aleyu will be greatly missed by his fellow elders, our staff, and all those whose lives he touched within the Hope for Korah family and beyond. While our hearts ache in his absence, we take comfort and rejoice in knowing that he is now fully restored, free from pain, and resting peacefully in eternity with his Heavenly Father.
