Emergency Relief Fund Update - Ayalech's Story

Thank you for standing with the families of Korah. We are deeply grateful for everyone who has given to our Emergency Relief Fund. 

Thanks to your generosiy, more than $15,000 has been raised, allowing us to provide emergency food, rent assitance, and hope to families who have lost their homes.

You are bringing hope to families when they need it most. Every gift is a reminder that they are not alone.

We are so encouraged by your support and would like to share the story of one HFK family who has been receiving emergency support during this difficult time. 

Ayelech is a single mother of three who graduated from our Family Empowerment Program several years ago. Since then, she has worked hard to use the skills she gained to provide for her children and build a more stable future.

For years, their small rented home near the garbage dump was more than just a place to live, it was home. But recently, homes along the edge of the dump were demolished, forcing Ayelech and many other vulnerable families to leave with very little notice.

Ayelech and her children have since moved to a more distant area where basic services, including water and electricity, are limited. The move has also made it much more difficult for her children to get to school, participate in programs, and stay connected to the community they have known for years.

With tears in her eyes, Ayelech shared with our staff the heartbreak of suddenly finding herself out on the street. She told of standing there with her children and all of their possessions as the rain began to fall, with nowhere to go and no idea what would come next. She felt completely alone.

Ayelech is deeply grateful for the emergency assistance she is receiving. She told our staff that it is such a comfort to know that she is not alone.
