It's Never Too Late to Learn

It's never too late to learn!

When 15-year-old Bereket joined our Family Empowerment Program this past spring, he had never been to school and didn’t know how to read or write. Over the summer, our HFK staff worked alongside him, teaching math, reading, and writing—both in Amharic and English.

It’s been such a joy to watch his determination and see the incredible progress he’s made in just a few short months. Recently, Bereket took an entrance exam at a local elementary school, and we are hopeful he will begin grade 3 when classes start at the end of this month.

We couldn’t be more proud of his hard work, courage, and perseverance as he takes these inspiring first steps in his education journey!
