Summer Camp Fun!

A special highlight this summer was the return of Jo Van Der Jagt, one of our dedicated HFK board members.

With her background in education and school leadership, Jo has faithfully traveled to Ethiopia each year to support our youth tutoring program.

Last month, she taught multiple levels of English and Bible classes each day, led book review clubs, hosted teen movie nights, and even introduced something brand new—a ping pong tournament, which was a huge hit!

This summer, we’ve also focused on creating safe, welcoming spaces for our teens to grow in confidence and life skills. From leadership and theatre clubs to computer and music classes, plus fun, hands-on learning for our younger students—there’s something for everyone. And of course, there’s soccer—with over 180 kids and teens involved, the field is full of energy and team spirit!

We’re so grateful for Jo and everything happening this summer at HFK!
